History of the foundation
1991-the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Germany has the idea to found an education center in St. Petersburg.
First restoration works in the Petrikirche.
1993-drb is celebrated the first Christmas. 45 visitors.
drb works in close collaboration with Dittchenbühne. Choir, Theatre Studio, a Club of the German language.
1995-the first visit of the delegation of the Government of the German Foreign Office in St. Petersburg and the first positive evaluation of drb. Main work in cultural, theatrical, choral areas and folk groups. The first linguistic camp.
1996-search of Russian Germans in North-West region of Russia.
Visits in 10 cities in the Northwest region. First German language courses in St. Petersburg.
1997-11 separate units of the foundation. Completion of repairs in the Petrikirche.
Start of the genealogical search service. The first projects for the vocational training and retraining. Social projects for the elderly. Youth exchange program.
1998 year-31 separate subdivisions of the Centre in the North-Western region.
2000-cooperation with GTZ- society for technical cooperation.
The first Youth Forum «perspective.»
2002- Foundation of the Youth Club Jugendblitz. The first seminar for executivesof drb in the Russian Federation.
2003-start of projects on healthy lifestyles. Start of commercial activities of drb.
10 years drb.
2004- first project in the area of educational tourism. Opening of our library for modern textbooks on German language. Close cooperation with the Institute Goethe and with the University of post-graduate education in teacher training.
2005-participation in the activities of the Russian-German Forum. Youth Exchange program in St. Petersburg.
2006-close cooperation with ZfA-Center for German schools abroad. Commercial language camps in Germany.
2006-2007-status of the Methodical-didactic course centre BiZ-the educational-information centre of Russian Germans in Russian-German House in Moscow. Participation in the program «tolerance» of the St. Petersburg administration. Youth Exchange program for St. Petersburg. Close cooperation with the Russian-German youth exchange in Hamburg and Moscow.
2008-15 years drb
2009-extension fields of the Methodical-didactic Center by integrating the theme of ethnic identity in language projects.
2010-celebration of the 200 year anniversary of the of the German Strelna colony near St. Petersburg.
2011-closing of the branches in the North-West region of Russia.
